This island tour has been specially designed for wildlife enthusiasts and available all year around except for three weeks in the months of August and September due to the closure of Yala National Park.

Sri Lanka has a very high rate of biological endemism in the world whether in plants or animals and is included among the top five biodiversity hotspots in the world.

You will be starting your tour by spending one night in the vibrant Colombo and then heading to the misty mountains covered with lush green tea bushes and splendid waterfalls.

You will be visiting the Horton Plains National Park and the Sinharaja Rain Forest, the two natural UNESCO world heritage sites in Sri Lanka. Both Horton Plains National Park and Sinharaja Rain Forest are rich in biodiversity and many species found are endemic. Horton Plains is an important bird area and large herds of Sri Lankan Sambar deer is spotted here. Sinharaja Rain Forest is home to over 50% of Sri Lanka's endemic species of mammals and butterflies, as well as many kinds of insects, reptiles and rare amphibians.

Further you will be visiting famous Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home, Udawalawe National Park and Yala National Park by a safari jeep where you will be able to see many animals in their natural habitat. You will be able to spot many species of mammals found in Sri Lanka including Asian elephants, sloth bear, leopards, sambar, wild buffaloes, red slender Loris, Toque Macaque, and Purple-faced Langur. Also, Yala National Park boasts the highest leopard density in the world and the chance of spotting a Leopard is high.

You will visit the amazing fortifications of Galle Dutch Fort ( a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and further you will visit a Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda and go on a river safari in Maadu River. You will be ending this tour by relaxing on the world famous south coast beaches.

The official check-in time at all hotels will be 14:00 hrs.

Visits to wild life parks will be at client's own risk and you are strongly advised to obey the instructions given by the interpreter and the Wild Life Officers while you are seeing animals.
Safari Vehicles available are non-air-conditioned and basic.
It is advisable to have sunglasses, sun-block lotion, insect repellent and personal effects for warm, windy and rainy conditions.
Respect the local customs and accept the differences.

Cancellation policy

21 days or less - 100% cancellation charge.
Between 21 days and 30 days - 50% of the tour given price.
Above 30 days - No cancellation charges

FULL ITINERARY

Day 1

Airport – Colombo

  • Arrive at the airport and proceed to Colombo.
  • P.M visit to Independence Square & Arcade, Gangaramaya Temple & Simamalakaya on Beira Lake and shopping arcades in Colombo
  • Overnight : Colombo / Mount Lavinia

Day 02

Nuwara Eliya

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Transfer to Nuwara Eliya via Kithulgala
  • Stop over at St Clair's Waterfall and Devon Waterfall
  • Dinner & Overnight : Nuwara Eliya

Day 03

Nuwara Eliya – Horton Plains

  • Leave hotel early morning (around 5.30 a.m.) with packed breakfast to Horton Plains
  • Trek to the World's End precipice and visit the famous Baker's Falls
  • Afternoon return to Nuwara Eliya
  • Visit to Nuwara Eliya Golf Club one of the oldest golf clubs in Asia. (Optional)
  • Evening visit to Nuwara Eliya Town & Bazaar.
  • Dinner & Overnight : Nuwara Eliya

Day 04

Nuwara Eliya – Sinharaja Rain Forest

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Visit to a Tea Plantation and a Tea Factory.
  • If you are lucky you will experience a Tea Plucking Session
  • Transfer to Sinharaja Rain Forest
  • Dinner & Overnight : Sinharaja

Day 05

Sinharaja - Udawalawe

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Half day visit to Sinharaja Rain Forest
  • Late afternoon Proceed to Udawalawe
  • Dinner & Overnight : Udawalawe

Day 06

Udawalawe National Park - Yala

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Proceed directly to Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home
  • Jeep Safari to Udawalawe National Park
  • Proceed to Yala visiting Buduruwagala Temple (Optional)
  • Dinner & Overnight : Yala

Day 07

Yala National Park

  • Morning Safari (Approx. 6.00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.)
  • Leave hotel around 1.30 p.m.
  • At approx. 2.00 p.m. start the Jeep Safari
  • Safari ends approx. 6.00 p.m.
  • Return to Hotel
  • OR
  • Afternoon Safari (Approx. 2.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.)
  • Leave hotel around 1.30 p.m.

Weligama – Galle – South Coast

  • Proceed to Galle via Weligama (If you are lucky you will witness stilt fishermen in Weligama)
  • City tour of Galle including a visit to the Galle Dutch Fort
  • Thereafter proceed to south coast
  • Dinner & Overnight : Ahungalla / Bentota / Beruwala

Day 09

South Coast - Balapitiya

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Proceed to Balapitiya to enjoy a 2 ½ hours River Safari in Maadu River
  • P.M. at leisure
  • Return to hotel visiting a Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda
  • Dinner & Overnight : Ahungalla / Bentota / Beruwala

Day 10

South Coast – Airport

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Proceed to airport for departure flight
