Ministry Of Crab is one of Colombo's best restaurants. From quality of ingredients to character to location, this Celebrity Chef Dharshan Munidasa joint has it all. It even has celebrity co-owners Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardena. More than anything else, however, people come here for the delicious crab. The crabs are Sri Lankan crabs, as served at the East Coast Seafood Centre in Singapore, which are hard to come by in Colombo and even at resort hotels. Ministry of Crab is extremely popular with local & foreign tourists.

Off the hook is a new sea food restaurant opened in the city. It's not too up market and extremely affordable. They have got a lovely ambiance and great food. You pick the seafood and get it prepared according to Sri Lankan, Thai, Western style. The restaurant lacks the liquor licence. However, they compensate for this by encouraging you to bring your own alcohol in and not charging corkage.
If you're lucky the owner will be around at dinner time and personally recommend dishes according to your taste.

The Manhattan Fish Market has delicious seafood and a friendly stuff - it's an awesome place to dine at. Although this is a high-end priced restaurant, the Manhattan Fish Market is disguised as a mid-range diner. The seating is both tables and sofas, the art on the walls are fun, the staff is very interactive (one of them announces 'GUEST IN!' and 'GUEST LEAVING!' appropriately so the rest of them can shout greetings at you - it's adorable). They have two restaurants located in Colombo & Rajagiriya (Just out-skirts of Colombo)
