A meat lover once mentioned "The Bavarian has always delivered and never disappointed, in terms of food quality & service". The ambience is warm and cozy, dimly lit with some fantastic music playing in the background. The menu is quite extensive and covers pretty much all meat lovers' needs.
They've also got some imported beers and ciders, the cocktails are a real bargain considering they are below the average prices at other restaurants in Colombo and they don't skimp with the alcohol. The Bloody Mary compliments the meat quite well and the Strawberry Margarita is a must try.
The place is always occupied, fun and lively with both plenty of locals and foreign tourists.

The Sizzle is a themed restaurant located in central Colombo, dwelling in an old converted house. The catch here is that everything sizzles and by that we mean everything whether it is food, dessert or even the drinks. The latter of which is achieved by adding a bit of dry ice. The menu is quite extensive with a good selection of seafood and pretty much all the usual meats, sans pork. Most of the dishes are named after international boxers for some reason. At sizzle an entire meal is being served on a cast iron platter, which is in turn placed on a wooden base and served sizzling to your table. The Sizzle offers a truly one-of-a-kind experience with their theme. The prices are pretty high, but the food is quite good and the service is very good. It's definitely worth a visit.

This is a nice dining and drinking place in the Havelock Town, owned by former ace cricketer turned politician Sanath Jayasuriya. Qbaa has something of the feel of a residential house and there is a small outside place for eating and drinking. Overall a nice place! If you are lucky you can meet some Sri Lankan cricketers there.

The Governor's Restaurant is somewhat similar to the Long Bar at Raffles Singapore. The a la carte menu choice has been enhanced by the new Slow Food and Molecular Food options. The Governor's Restaurant offers one of the best views of the beach anywhere in Colombo. The best part is that you can sit either inside the restaurant, poolside, or on the terrace overlooking the ocean. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of the options but on a not-so-warm day the terrace is the best option.
