The Victoria Golf & Country Resort is set in a coconut estate across a 500 acre plus site. It is located alongside the Victoria Lake & reservoir /dam and is dwarfed by the Kandyan mountain range with the Knuckles Mountains for a backdrop. The resort has a wide range of accommodation – from chalets to luxurious villas and has a clubhouse with a wide range of amenities to offer.

The highlight is the golf course which is a Donald Steel creation and is an 18 hole, 6946 yard, Par 73 layout, that was built in 1997. It was voted as the Best golf course in 2005 by the Asian Golf monthly magazine – it has an undulating terrain with narrow fairways that hug the contours of the mountains & greens that are often elevated and compact in size. The golf course has a pro shop where almost everything you need for your game is available (except shoe rentals). They have a few golf carts currently which can be hired.

Other sports and recreational facilities include bar and terrace dining, floodlit tennis court, Saddle club, riding lesson for adults and kids, and horse safaris. There is an outdoor infinity swimming pool and an Ayurvedic wellness centre offering a range of relaxing treatments. The surrounding reservoir and central hills are ideal for bird watching. Over 100 species of birds can be spotted on nature trails within the 500-acre estate accompanied by a local expert. Mountain bike trails also provide for much adventure.

It is located 130 kms from Colombo and 20 kms from Kandy and can be accessed either by road or by sea plane. The journey by a chartered flight takes 30 minutes while by road it is a 3 to 4 hour journey as the road is a busy and narrow 2 laned highway all through.

Other golf playing related fees are to be paid by the guest directly to pro-shops at each club. Rates are subject to change as per club regulations.
